Director’s Message
On behalf of the entire faculty, I welcome you and your family to Blue River STEAM Academy! For the past 13 years, Blue River has provided excellent care and learning for children ages six weeks to 12. As the years have passed, so has our school. Although we have always strived to provide quality early childhood education, in November 2013, we decided we wanted more for our children.
At Blue River STEAM Academy, we view each child as creative, capable, and curious learners. Children learn in many ways and should learn in an environment suitable for each child versus the classroom. The environment plays a massive role in our school. Children's work is always valued and displayed with documentation about the project along with conversations between the children. Teachers at Blue River take extra time observing all the children to get to know them individually, watching for each child's interests and skill sets. Children are encouraged to listen to each other, share ideas, learn, and use problem-solving skills daily.
As the children are encouraged to collaborate, we encourage parents to cooperate with us. Parents are always welcome into the classroom, and we look forward to seeing family and friends at our special events. We want your family to extend into our Blue River family.
Working with Blue River families and educators over the past 13 years has been a privilege! I cannot wait to see where this journey will take us!
